Olayinka Matthew Balogun, BSc, MPH, is the Founder and President of Rehoboth Trade Academy, a premier faith-based vocational institution dedicated to equipping the next generation of skilled trade professionals. Rooted in a lifelong commitment to Christian ministry and community transformation, Minister Balogun established Rehoboth Trade Academy to bridge the gap between technical mastery and spiritual purpose. He firmly believes that providing students with hands-on, high-value career skills is one of the most effective ways to build strong families, thriving churches, and resilient communities.

A Multi-Generational Heritage in the Trades

President Balogun’s deep-seated belief in the power of vocational education is a lifelong inheritance. As the son of a skilled carpenter, he grew up watching his father transform raw materials into master craftsmanship. Under his father’s direct mentorship, Olayinka learned the art of carpentry, gaining an early, profound respect for the precision, discipline, and work ethic required by the trades.

He began his foundational academic journey in Egbe, Kogi State, Nigeria. He spent his first year of high school at Comprehensive College, Egbe, then completed his remaining four years at the historic Titcombe College, Egbe. Immediately after high school graduation, and before pursuing higher education, he broadened his technical horizons by training in the electrical and electronics trade. These formative years solidified his core philosophy: true mastery is built through direct, hands-on experience.

Academic Foundation & Administrative Strategy

Building upon his early technical background, President Balogun pursued a rigorous, multi-disciplinary academic path spanning healthcare, science, and community well-being. He began his higher education journey studying Pharmaceutical Science at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. He later transitioned to the United States, earning his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Driven by a passion to impact lives on a broader scale, he earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This unique academic combination equips him with a deeply analytical approach to system building, workforce development, and operational strategy.

Global Public Service & Healthcare Leadership

Before establishing Rehoboth Trade Academy, President Balogun built an extensive career bridging high-level governance, community development, and humanitarian aid across two continents. His professional journey includes serving in prestigious public sectors in Nigeria, where he lent his operational expertise to both The Presidency and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Upon relocating to the United States, he continued his mission of service by working with the American Red Cross, managing critical community relief and safety operations. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to uplift the vulnerable, President Balogun also founded and successfully operates a private homecare agency in the United States, providing compassionate healthcare and operational excellence to families in need.

Integrating Public Health
and Safety into the Trades

At Rehoboth Trade Academy, President Balogun applies his expertise in Public Health (MPH) and homecare leadership to reshape vocational education. Under his guidance, the academy teaches technical skills while also pioneering comprehensive occupational health programs and rigorous job-site safety protocols.

He understands that a sustainable career in the trades requires protecting the worker’s long-term physical well-being. By embedding safety leadership, environmental health standards, and preventive care into the core curriculum, he ensures graduates protect themselves and their crews. He also views trade mastery as a vehicle for community wellness, training students to build infrastructure that improves public safety and raises the living standards of the neighborhoods they serve.
